Snakebite Envenoming: Reaching Our 2030 Targets
Join the Hon. Minister Aden Duale, Kenyan Minister of Health, and Elhadj As Sy, Chancellor of Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and Member of the Welcome Board, ahead of the 78th World Health Assembly, to introduce a new Global Snakebite Taskforce aimed at addressing the critical issue of snakebite envenoming.
Each year, up to 138,000 lives are lost to snakebite envenoming, disproportionately affecting the world’s most vulnerable
communities.
This event will benchmark progress against the WHO snakebite strategy to halve deaths and disabilities by 2030. To meet this target, increased visibility, political momentum and funding are essential.
