Reducing the burden of stroke Strengthening health system readiness
Stroke remains a leading cause of death and disability worldwide, disproportionately affecting developing countries.
On the occasion of the 79th World Health Assembly 2026 (WHA79), Ministry of Health & Population Egypt and Siemens Healthineers are jointly organizing a high‑level discussion on effective strategies in reducing the burden of stroke, with a particular focus on fostering innovation across the stroke care pathway.
The event aims to raise awareness and mobilize support for the WHA resolution on reducing the burden of stroke primarily in improving access to essential diagnostics and treatment, in strengthening health system readiness in low‑resource settings.
