Improving Cerebral Palsy Care through Universal Health Coverage
An estimated 50 million people lives with cerebral palsy
worldwide. This side-event addresses the critical gaps in
cerebral palsy care across the lifespan, including innovative
approaches to early diagnosis and intervention in the first years
of life, integrated cross-disciplinary care models, and strategies
to reduce global health disparities, particularly in low and
middle-income countries. The discussion will also highlight
successful frameworks for health workforce development,
including between PHC and specialist care, and pediatric and
adult care systems. This event aims to lay the groundwork for a
global commitment to equity and quality care for all persons
with cerebral palsy.
