Advancing Child and Youth Health through Education, including Ending Violence in and through Schools

Health and education are fundamentally interconnected: education improves health outcomes, while good health supports learning, retention and lifelong productivity. This 45-minute panel on the margins of WHA79 will examine how integrated health and education approaches can address urgent needs in fragile and development contexts.

The discussion will highlight schools as delivery platforms for health, nutrition, violence prevention and psychosocial services, showcase country examples and call for stronger collaboration, financing and commitments across sectors.

The event is co-sponsored by the Permanent Missions of Sweden, the United Kingdom and Zambia to the UN in Geneva, UNESCO, UNICEF, WHO and the EiE Hub.
