Addressing the Global Crisis of Substandard and Falsified Medicines – A Panel Discussion Enhancing the Work of WHO Member States Mechanism through Regional Engagement, Stakeholder Collaboration and Operation Agility
Substandard and falsified (SF) medical products remain a global
health challenge, undermining patient safety, trust in health
systems and progress towards UHC. This side-event It will
address gaps that were identified in the independent evaluation
of the WHO Member State Mechanism on SF products and
consequently aim to catalyze collective action and highlight
scalable strategies to enhance the global response to SFs. These
include innovative practices, lessons from regional initiatives
such as African Medicine Agency and approaches to
strengthening intersectoral partnerships and data sharing
mechanism
