Accelerating Progress on Universal Access to Palliative Care: Learning from Country Experiences

Palliative care should be firmly embedded within the NCD agenda, and palliative care interventions must be included in national benefit packages to achieve universal health coverage.

Objectives of the event:

  • Showcase successful country initiatives towards achieving universal access to palliative care from member states, harnessing the momentum of WHA Resolution 67.19 (Strengthening of palliative care as a component of comprehensive care throughout the life course)
  • Discuss challenges and solutions to palliative care integration in Primary Care and NCD Control
  • Engage members states and health representatives to consider the importance of  palliative care in the 2025 political declaration related to the 4th High-Level meetings on NCDs
