A Safer Childhood is in our Hands: An Evening to End Violence Against Children
All children and adolescents deserve to grow up safe. Yet, each year, half of all children experience violence that not only damages the childhoods of today, but the societies and economies of tomorrow. But this is a preventable crisis. For the first time in history, we have the tools to end it – along with a roadmap to end sexual violence against children and adolescents.
This event will address the urgent issue of sexual violence against children, impacting 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 7 boys worldwide. The event will also formally launch the 2026 Out of the Shadows Index – the global benchmark that assesses government efforts to address sexual violence against children and adolescents (researched and developed by Economist Impact).
This gathering will shape up to be an incredible evening of performance, music, discussion, and advocacy, with Ministers, leading health experts, and survivor advocates calling for action on violence against children as a public health crisis.
*The Index is developed and researched by Economist Impact, with advocacy and engagement efforts led by Together for Girls
