AI for Health Impact: From Pilots to Government-Led Systems

As governments face increasing pressure to deliver universal health coverage amid constrained resources, workforce shortages, and growing system complexity, interest in AI is accelerating across the health sector. For many countries, the question is no longer whether to engage with AI, but how to do so in ways that deliver real impact without adding further burden to already stretched systems. While AI-enabled tools are already showing promise across a range of use cases, from strengthening frontline health worker support to improving service delivery and decision-making, too many efforts remain limited to fragmented pilots, parallel systems, or short-term funding cycles. Without alignment to government priorities, financing pathways, and existing service delivery models, these efforts risk increasing complexity rather than delivering sustainable impact. This closed-door dialogue will bring together governments, donors, technical partners, and implementers to explore how AI can be integrated into community health systems in ways that strengthen service delivery, improve efficiency, and deliver measurable outcomes.
