Overlooked and underfunded: turning the tide on the global stroke crisis

Stroke is a leading cause of disability and death worldwide, yet it remains largely overlooked in global health discussions. This event will expose the devastating human and economic costs of this neglect—and make clear that the trajectory can and must be reversed through bold, coordinated efforts.

Most strokes are preventable, treatable, and recoverable when the right policies, systems, and investments are in place. During the event, the Global Stroke Action Coalition will outline five urgent actions for leaders and policy makers, and launch “Every Minute Counts”, a campaign to inspire and mobilize momentum in the lead-up to the September UN High-Level Meeting on Non-Communicable Diseases.
