Geneva Clarion Call: Rethinking Power, Financing and Global Health Delivery

Hosted by the Accra Reset and convened on the margins of the 79th World Health Assembly, this High-Level Dialogue on Global Health Architecture will bring together Heads of State, Ministers of Health, multilateral leaders, and global health reformers to demonstrate a central proposition: sovereignty is not an aspiration, but an executable agenda.

The event takes place against a backdrop of contracting financing, increasing pressure on multilateral institutions, and growing recognition that the current architecture is no longer fit for purpose. Rather than defending the status quo, the Accra Reset positions this convening as a forward-looking platform focused on what country-led delivery requires in practice at the national, regional and global levels.

The programme features a Presidential Address from H.E. John Dramani Mahama of Ghana who will set out progress since Davos and outline the next phase of the Accra Reset. This will be followed by remarks from Dr. Vanessa Kerry on how multilateralism must evolve to support, not substitute, country-led efforts. The programme will also feature a Ministerial Dialogue, which will discuss the the Accra Reset’s High-Level Panel on Reform of the Global Health Architecture and Governance within the context of national reform priorities. This is complemented by a focused discussion on the future of financing and transition, exploring how institutions must adapt to support sovereign health systems.
