Her Turn: Women’s Leadership and Diplomacy for Gender-Responsive Global Health
Overview
Women represent the majority of the global health workforce, yet they remain underrepresented in leadership and decision-making spaces where global health priorities are shaped. This inequity affects the formulation of policies that are responsive to women’s needs across the life cycle.
Multilateral diplomacy is essential to advancing equitable health systems, mobilizing resources, and ensuring that global health agendas integrate gender-responsive policies. By strengthening women’s leadership in diplomatic and multilateral spaces—such as the WHO, UN processes, and global partnerships—policy decisions can better reflect the perspectives and experiences of women worldwide.
This WHA side event will bring together senior leaders and emerging voices to explore how diplomacy can amplify women’s leadership, drive gender-responsive global health policies, and engage the next generation of leaders to influence global health governance.
