Investing in the Health and Care Workforce: Addressing the Impact of Political Agendas on Health and Care Workforce Investment
The Center for Indonesia’s Strategic Development Initiatives (CISDI) is organizing a side event at the 78th World Health Assembly (WHA) in Geneva. The session, titled “Investing in the Health and Care Workforce: Addressing the Impact of Political Agendas on Health and Care Workforce Investment,” will take place on 20 May 2025, from 9:00 to 10:30 EST, at the CICG – The International Conference Center Geneva.
The event will address the urgent need for resilient investments in the health workforce amidst political shifts that have shaped funding priorities and multilateral engagement. This session aims to explore how political agendas have influenced health workforce investment, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, and what can be done to ensure sustained, inclusive, and equitable support for health and care workers. We hope to create a space for open and forward-looking dialogue, focusing on lessons learned and promising pathways forward.
